146th over: India 469-6 (Ashwin 9 Pujara 176)
Stuart Broad returns to the middle and as he does he comes back with another desperate appeal. The ball was going down leg side and not even close. England, and in particular Broad's appeals have been poor. Two runs off the final ball.
145th over: India 467-6 (Ashwin 7 Pujara 176)
Pujara adds two more to the tally with a nice cut shot off the bowling of Swann.
144th over: India 465-6 (Ashwin 7 Pujara 174)
Pujara rocks back and sends Patel's ball through midwicket one bounce and for FOUR.
143rd over: India 451-6 (Ashwin 7 Pujara 169)
Ashwin sweeps Swann for FOUR from the final ball of the over.
142nd over: India 451-6 (Ashwin 3 Pujara 168)
Two more runs come off Patel's over, England will believe that their batsmen can score runs on this pitch if the total is a catchable one.
141st over: India 451-6 (Ashwin 2 Pujara 166)
Pujara and Ashwin take singles off Swann's over to add two to the total, the run rate has come down since yesterday.
140th over: India 451-6 (Ashwin 1 Pujara 166)
Pujara adds just one to India's total off the bowling of Patel.
139th over: India 450-6 (Ashwin 1 Pujara 165)
Swann is busy moving his field about, particularity Ian Bell who he tells to move back five yards. Pujara gets a single to bring up the 450.?
138th over: India 449-6 (Ashwin 1 Pujara 164)
Samit Patel will be bowling at Ravichandran Ashwin after drinks. Solid defensive shot from Ashwin first up. Ashwin gets off the mark with a single. and Pujara adds to his tally with one more.
137th over: India 447-6 (Ashwin 0 Pujara 163)
Pujara adds two more to the total off the bowling of Swann. Time for drinks.
136th over: India 445-6 (Ashwin 0 Pujara 161)
With England starting to bowl at the tail they will want to get Ashwin on strike as much as possible, so let Pujara score singles and take him off strike. And that is just what Bresnan does, one run from the over.
135th over: India 444-6 (Ashwin 0 Pujara 160)
Big appeal from Swann and Prior, but Tony Hill shakes his head, the ball looked to be turning too much.
WICKET: MS DHONI B SWANN 5
Swann completes his five wicket haul with the skipper MS Dhoni playing on as he attempts to go for a sweep. Swann has bowled well in this Test
Ravichandran Ashwin is the new man in the middle.
134th over: India 441-5 (MS Dhoni 5 Pujara 157)
Bresnan chips in with a maiden. England have done well in the last few overs to keep the runs down, but they need wickets.
133rd over: India 441-5 (MS Dhoni 5 Pujara 157)
Patel keeps the runs down with two coming from his over, but India remain very much in control.
132nd over: India 439-5 (MS Dhoni 4 Pujara 156)
Pujara looks to up the run rate and sends Bresnan's first ball to the boundary for FOUR.
131st over: India 434-5 (MS Dhoni 4 Pujara 151)
Patel continues to bowl. Dhoni hits one high in the air Swann tries to get under it, but it falls safely and two runs come from it and three from the over.
130th over: India 431-5 (MS Dhoni 2 Pujara 150)
Pujara takes a single off the second ball to take him to his next milestone 150 not out. He has batted very well. Just that single from Bresnan's over.
129th over: India 430-5 (MS Dhoni 2 Pujara 149)
Pujara whips the ball away for FOUR with a nice shot through midwicket and he then adds another single to take him to 149 not out.
128th over: India 425-5 (MS Dhoni 2 Pujara 144)
Bresnan keeps the bowling tidy with just a two from the over. Dhoni gets a single as does Pujara.
127th over: India 423-5 (MS Dhoni 1 Pujara 143)
Patel's first ball of this over does not go as well as his first from his last, Pujara hits him for FOUR. He follows that up with two more. Four dot balls follow.
126th over: India 417-5 (MS Dhoni 1 Pujara 137)
Tim Bresnan comes back into the attack. Not been his game so far, and the debate rages as to whether he or Monty Panesar should have been selected for this game. Dhoni gets off the mark with a single as three runs come from the over.
125th over: India 414-5 (MS Dhoni 0 Pujara 135)
WICKET: Yuvraj Singh c Swann b Patel 74
Patel gets England's first break through of the day, a waste high full toss from the England spinner and Yuvraj Singh goes for a big shot but Swann gets underneath it and takes the catch in the deep. Patel looked slightly embarrassed with the delivery.
The Captain MS Dhoni comes to the middle - without a helmet - and goes to the no strikers end. A single from Pujara gets Dhoni on strike but he blocks the rest of the over.
124th over: India 413-4 (Singh 74 Pujara 134)
KP carries on and continues to bowl without giving too many runs away. Just two singles coming off the over.
123rd over: India 411-4 (Singh 73 Pujara 133)
Samit Patel takes the ball at the other end. Matt Prior asks the question for a stumping, but Yuvraj Singh keeps his back foot on the floor and is rightly given as not out by the third umpire. Maiden over from Patel.
122nd over: India 411-4 (Singh 73 Pujara 133)
The players return to the field after lunch.
England will want to take wickets and quickly in this afternoon session.
Kevin Pietersen continues to bowl after lunch. Yuvraj Singh gets a single off his third ball and but KP ensures that is all that comes from the over.
LUNCH ON DAY TWO: INDIA 410-4 (Singh 72 Pujara 133)
View from Sportsmail's cricket writer and editor of Wisden, Lawrence Booth in Ahmedabad
England?s only chance of keeping alive their already slim hopes of actually winning this first Test relied on the optimistic notion of six quick wickets this morning. They have managed precisely none, which supports Graeme Swann?s view in last night?s press conference that this pitch is very good indeed for batting, despite the first-day help on offer for the spinners.
Swann had a couple of decent shouts for lbw, but Cheteshwar Pujara has been solidity itself, and Yuvraj Singh enjoyed the six-over spell from Samit Patel. The Sardar Patel Stadium will erupt if he is able to mark his post-cancer comeback with a Test hundred this afternoon.
But it was hard to escape the conclusion that was reached fairly early yesterday: by picking three seamers, England got their balance wrong. Sorry to keep doing this, but at lunch on day two the combined figures of Jimmy Anderson, Stuart Broad and Tim Bresnan were a miserable 57-8-213-0.
When only one of your bowlers has taken a wicket after four sessions, the polite thing to do is hold your hand up and admit you got it wrong
121st over: India 410-4 (Singh 72 Pujara 133)
Swann sees his first ball hit high into the deep by Yuvraj Singh, Nick Compton was round there but unable to get round in time and it goes over the boundary for FOUR. Another single comes off the over and those five runs are the final runs of the morning session.

Breakthrough: Samit Patel took England's first wicket of the day when he dismissed Yuvraj Singh
120th over: India 405-4 (Singh 67 Pujara 133)
KP looks like he will bowl through to the lunch break, Yuvraj Singh plays a shot on the leg side to get the first run from Pietersen's bowling. Two more singles follow.
119th over: India 402-4 (Singh 65 Pujara 132)
Graeme Swann returns at the other end with just a few minutes to go before lunch. Two runs from the over.?
118th over: India 400-4 (Singh 64 Pujara 131)
Much to the delight of Sportsmail's Nasser Hussain, Kevin Pietersen comes on to bowl. And KP starts off with a maiden with his off spin.
117th over: India 400-4 (Singh 64 Pujara 131)
Pujara hits Patel for two runs with a wide punch that evades the diving cover. Those runs bring up the 400 for India.
116th over: India 396-4 (Singh 64 Pujara 128)
A maiden over from Tim Bresnan, which will no doubt please him. Now he has to try and turn the dot ball into wickets.
115th over: India 398-4 (Singh 64 Pujara 129)
Two runs come off Patel's over. Ian Bell takes a blow on the ankle standing at silly point.
114th over: India 396-4 (Singh 63 Pujara 128)
Pujara hits a single off Bresnan's first delivery and then Singh knocks a single off a wide delivery and Pujara works one away for the third run from the over.
113th over: India 393-4 (Singh 62 Pujara 126)
Yuvraj Singh sends a ball from Samit Patel straight back high over his head and over the boundary for SIX. Eight runs in total came off the over.

Carrying on where he left off: Cheteshwar Pujara went on to make his second Test century
112th over: India 385-4 (Singh 54 Pujara 126)
Tim Bresnan is back into the attack for England. He bowled just 10 overs yesterday with little reward, so he'll no doubt be looking to make an impact today. A full and wide delivery is given the treatment by Pujara for two runs, which went through the hands of Ian Bell in the field.
111th over: India 383-4 (Singh 54 Pujara 124)
Just a single off the over from Patel, but it is a significant run as it brings up the 100 partnership between Cheteshwar Pujara and Yuvraj Singh.
110th over: India 382-4 (Singh 54 Pujara 123)
A couple of singles come off Anderson's over, but he won't mind that too much as he keeps the runs down. Massive appeal from Anderson off the final ball, but again the ball was pitching outside the line and umpire Aleem Dar is unmoved. England's appeals are becoming desperate.
109th over: India 380-4 (Singh 53 Pujara 122)
Pujara pulls a short long hop from Patel through mid-wicket and away for FOUR
108th over: India 375-4 (Singh 52 Pujara 118)
Jimmy Anderson and Alastair Cook are in deep discussion over the the field positions, no slip in play, he is bowling wide of off stump and trying to stop the scoring. If that was the plan then it worked, for now at least, as Anderson bowls another maiden.
107th over: India 375-4 (Singh 52 Pujara 118)
Samit Patel comes into the attack. Full toss off his third ball brings up a HALF CENTURY FOR YUVRAJ SINGH with a FOUR, he follows it up with a single and then Pujara gets three towards the end of the over, eight runs come off the over.
106th over: India 367-4 (Singh 47 Pujara 115)
Kevin Pietersen will no doubt be itching to get out in the middle, but for the time being he looks alert in the field at silly mid-on. A couple of runs come off the over to bring the first hour to an end and with it an drinks break.
105th over: India 365-4 (Singh 46 Pujara 114)
Yuvraj Singh moves to within one shot away from a half century with a single. But he will have to wait a little longer as Pujara scores a single off the final ball to give himself the strike first up in the next over.
104th over: India 363-4 (Singh 45 Pujara 113)
Anderson bowls another maiden over.
103rd over: India 363-4 (Singh 45 Pujara 113)
Yuvraj Singh moves to within five runs of his half century with a couple of runs with a top edge sweep down to short fine leg off Swann's bowling.
102nd over: India 361-4 (Singh 43 Pujara 113)
India look happy out in the middle and look set up to bat for another full day, much to England's frustration. Anderson sees Yuvraj Singh score the first run off his bowling for the day with a single away to long leg.
101st over: India 360-4 (Singh 42 Pujara 113)
Good over from Swann, his 38th of the innings, and it is another maiden.
100th over: India 360-4 (Singh 42 Pujara 113)
Jimmy Anderson comes back into the attack replacing Broad. Good steady bowling from the England paceman and it is maiden for him to open his spell.
99th over: India 360-4 (Singh 42 Pujara 113)
Pujara gets a FOUR off a backslash shot that goes just wide of Trott at slip, a dive from the fielder but only really made it look like more of a chance than it really was.
Big, big appeal from Swann, he tossed the ball up wide outside off and Pujara moved to get a pad to it. Tony Hill thought about it for a long time, but eventually shook his head. There was probably enough doubt there for it to be the correct decision, but it does raise the debate as to why DRS is not being used all over the world.
98th over: India 356-4 (Singh 42 Pujara 109)
Yuvraj Singh pulls the second ball of Broad's over for FOUR, he didn't really get hold of it properly with the shot coming off the toe of the bat. Appeal from Broad and the England fielders on the final ball of the over for LBW, but again it is outside the line, so again it is not out.
97th over: India 350-4 (Singh 37 Pujara 108)
Pujara flicks the first ball of Swann's over for a single, Singh does the same and four runs come from the over bringing up the 350 for India. England will not want to see India add another 100 to their total if they want to stay in this Test.

In the runs: India's Yuvraj Singh reached his half century on day two
96th over: India 346-4 (Singh 35 Pujara 106)
A single from Pujara off the first ball of Broad's over, but then five dot balls follow.
95th over: India 345-4 (Singh 35 Pujara 105)
Expensive over from Swann. Now that Pujara has moved on from the nervous nineties, he is looking to pile on the runs FOUR off the first ball and that is then followed up two balls later with a massive SIX by Singh over mid-off. Another massive shot from Singh hits the boundary rope without bouncing, but just FOUR given. 15 from the over.
94th over: India 330-4 (Singh 25 Pujara 100)
Good bowling from Broad to Singh, not giving him too many opportunities, a single off the fourth ball puts Pujara back on strike. CENTURY FOR CHETESHWAR PUJARA tucks the ball away for a single.
93rd over: India 328-4 (Singh 24 Pujara 99)
Just a single needed for Pujara to take him onto three figures, Swann frustrates him with another maiden over, so the wait goes on for a little longer. Appeal on the final ball for LBW, again not out.
92nd over: India 328-4 (Singh 24 Pujara 99)
Stuart Broad bowls at the other end and it is Cheteshwar Pujara at the other end. A single off the second ball takes him to 99 runs and off strike. Broad has a big appeal for LBW but the ball was pitching way out side leg stump and it goes away for four byes.
91st over: India 323-4 (Singh 24 Pujara 98)
Graeme Swann opens the bowling on day two and it is Yuvraj Singh at the other end. Appeal from the second ball, but the ball looks too high, maiden to start with for Swann.
3.52: Here is Paul Newman's report on day one: Captain Cook suffers nightmare first day as India build on Sehwag blitz... and Monty omission threatens to haunt England
While Lawrence Booth writes: Swann bags himself a new rabbit on day of toil for Bresnan
And Chief sports writer Martin Samuel says: Little Master can bow out on his own terms
Former England captain Nasser Hussain says: Missing Monty is England's achilles in Ahmedabad
Finally Sky commentator and former England coach David Lloyd, says: England have picked the wrong team... but why I'm in a tizz over Chas
3.50am: Before play starts, don't forget to read some of the brilliant pieces from Sportsmail's top team in Ahmedabad, Paul Newman, Lawrence Booth and Martin Samuel plus pieces from Nasser Hussain and of course Bumble.
3.45am: Good morning and welcome to Sportsmail's coverage of day two of the first Test between India and England.
It is fair to say that the hosts had the better of the first day, but England did manage to keep the runs down and take some wickets as the day went on. Today, they will be looking to take some early wickets and try and dismiss India before setting about of chasing down their total.
Graeme Swann was England's main success story yesterday with all four of the wickets for the tourists, while Virender Sehwag was India's star with the bat.

Caught in a spin: Graeme Swann took all four of England's wickets on day one of the first Test
